Intro

Around the world, wild animals are being pushed to the brink, losing their homes to deforestation and urbanisation, injured by vehicles, attacked by dogs, electrocuted on power lines, or suffering after years of captivity. At International Animal Rescue, we work with dedicated partners to rescue wild animals in urgent need and provide them with expert veterinary care and rehabilitation. Those that can be are released back into the wild, and those that can’t are provided with sanctuary for life.

260
orangutans rescued

More than 260 orangutans have been rescued by our partners at YIARI in West Borneo. Each one receives expert care and, if possible, the chance to return to the forest.

600
sloth bears saved

Together with our partners at Wildlife SOS in India, we’ve helped rescue more than 600 sloth bears from lives of cruelty and neglect.

9
wild births

Nine orangutans rehabilitated and released by our partners YIARI have now given birth in the wild - a remarkable milestone that proves rehabilitation works!

50
Armenian bears rescued

Working with our partners FPWC, we’ve helped rescue more than 50 brown bears in Armenia - many from tiny cages where they were kept for years as tourist attractions.

130
species treated

From tiny opossums to scarlet macaws and olive ridley turtles, our wildlife rescue centre in Costa Rica has rescued and treated more than 130 different species!

Our wildlife rescue and rehabilitation work spans multiple continents and species, always driven by a deep respect for animals and the belief that they deserve to live wild and free.
