A Very Sad Day at Unbridled

Sadly, today we had to say goodbye to our oldest friend. Sadie was mid 30’s and had severe joint and bone issues. She hung in there like a real trooper and today she said…enough! She will be sorely missed by all of us here and especially by her best friend JJ. He said his goodbyes in good ole donkey fashion and the crew gave her hardy goodbye brays. Our hearts are broken but we know she’s in a better place. Goodbye Sadie, we’ll always remember your kind spirit.

Donkey Family needs a home

3 donkeys need a new home! It’s a mom and 2 boys. the 2 boys  have just recently been weaned. They have wandered on to a property about 3 weeks ago and the owner of the property is not set up for animals. She has taken them in temporarily, hoping to find them a good home and to keep them safe. Debbie lives on the FL, GA, AL border and you would need your own trailer. She has contacted the Sheriffs dept several times and no owner has come forward. They need YOU!

Contact me or reply to this post and I will forward your info to Debbie.

chaste tree berry powder

We thought Miss Sadie and Grandpa Lester might have cushings due to a myriad of cushings related symptoms and the fact that they don’t shed out well at all. Most of the time we shave them so they don’t get overheated in the summer. Last year I decided to try an addition to my current concoction. I normally mix a “biscuit” for each which includes

1/4 cup pure garlic powder (springtime bug off) wonderful for keepings flies and ticks at bay and everyone knows garlic is natures antibiotic

1 tablespoon feed (that’s all)

1 tablespoon sugar free pancake syrup

1 tablespoon pure coconut oil (Vitacost-online) we use it too. It’s wonderful!

Now I’ve added 1/2 teaspoon chaste tree berry powder (Herbal Solutions) They say give them more 2 times daily and stop for a few weeks but we’ve found 1/2 teaspoon once everyday works very well.

They are calmer, sweeter and have shed out wonderfully this summer. What a difference this stuff makes!!

Everyone is feeling spry and they look grand.

Apologies

In my zeal to rid this site of over 1500 spam posts in 2 days (!!!!!) I have inadvertently deleted ALL prior post. I apologize. I will continue to try and retrieve them but I fear I have sent them to the giant trash bin on the web.

All our guests are doing well and are particularly spunky with this cooler weather. Fuzzy donkeys and dogs and lots of new feathers. Hope you all have a wonderful last part of the year.
