Shocking Reality Uncovered We Need Help To Save Victims of Electrocution, Indonesian Slow Lorises

Slow lorises, small nocturnal primates, are facing a growing crisis in Indonesia. As forests are fragmented by human development, these endangered animals are forced to travel along power lines, often now the only route between isolated forest patches. But the high-voltage cables deliver devastating shocks that cause severe burns, loss of limbs, blindness, and death.

At our partner’s centre, YIARI, injured lorises receive round-the-clock medical care, including fluid therapy, burn treatment, pain relief, and surgery. Survivors are carefully rehabilitated and, when possible, released back into the wild.

“Slow loris electrocution is a preventable crisis,” says Gavin Bruce, CEO of IAR. “Each casualty is a lost life and a call to action.”

Every rescue requires days or even months of care, from emergency treatment to rehabilitation and release. With your support, IAR can continue providing the expert veterinary care and safe refuge these fragile animals desperately need.
